Gnarlie Brown and Friends

by Scott on August 29, 2010

Gnarlie Brown & Friends - custom monster munny by Scottoons

Gnarlie Brown and Friends is the third Scottoons kidrobot Mini Munny Custom figure. His closest pals are Stoopy and Stoopy’s little chum, Woodblock. Gnarlie has been the most modified Mini Munny figure I’ve customized so far. He is made from the kidrobot white Mini Munny base figure, Magic-Sculpt clay, scrap fabric, thread, and acrylic paint. Stoopy and Woodblock were hand-built from scratch using Magic-Sculpt, and acrylic paints.

Stoopy doesn’t fetch. Stoopy doesn’t sit. Stoopy doesn’t speak. Stoopy doesn’t heel. Stoopy doesn’t keep up. Stoopy barely remembers to keep breathing. Stoopy does get on Gnarlie Brown’s last nerve, quite often, but they are still best buds anyway.

Scottoons 3rd Custom Munny - WIP shots

  1. Drawn and quartered. Post-op neck-ectomy.
  2. Chest carved away to make room for head.
  3. Clay support for head added to the body. Holes drilled in the head to allow the clay to get a better grip.
  4. Head is attached. Bottom lip added.
  5. Aluminum foil glued on to head to create horn positioning and to become the underlying form.
  6. Experimenting with horn shapes. Hunched back added.
  7. Adding Magic-Sculpt to foil horns.
  8. Horns almost covered.
  9. Another view.

Sparky the Robot Dog

May 7, 2010

Sparky the Robot Dog is made from various found objects: joystick, flashlight, pvc pieces, forks, and various other doodads. Sparky is Rusty‘s mechanical K-9 pal. Sparky got a recent upgrade. He now has dyna-flow whisker vents! Should help keep him from over-heating when the pant-function-generator goes into overdrive.
